JCI Dhaka Founders, in partnership with Lightshore Network, proudly launched the first phase of our Green Future Project 2.0, a tree-planting initiative aimed at fostering a sustainable and greener Bangladesh. This phase kicked off at the JAAGO Foundation School campus in Dinajpur, where we planted 100 trees as part of our commitment to environmental stewardship.
The plantation drive covered three regions—Dinajpur and Barisal—with this initial phase focusing on the JAAGO school in Dinajpur. Alongside planting, we held an engaging awareness session for the students, educating them on how to nurture and care for the trees to ensure long-term growth and impact. By empowering the next generation with knowledge, we aim to create a ripple effect of environmental responsibility that extends far beyond the planting day.
The upcoming phases of the project are set to begin next week, continuing our journey toward a sustainable future. This effort builds on our previous successful campaign, where we planted 500 trees across Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Monpura, and Mirzapur in two impactful phases.
At JCI Dhaka Founders, we are deeply committed to climate action and actively support Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action). Through this project, we are planting a variety of medicinal trees, herbs, fruit trees, and forest trees to restore biodiversity, protect natural habitats, and contribute positively to the environment.
The Green Future Project is an ongoing annual initiative that reflects our dedication to combating climate change and promoting environmental responsibility within our communities. Together, we are planting the seeds today for a healthier, greener tomorrow.
